Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
On the Saturday morning of June 13th 2009 I woke up to the phone ringing beside me and heard the news that one of our family's close friend had died. It was shocking news because we had seen him just a few days before at the hospital and he seemed fine.
He was suffering from Kidney cancer which was said to be very aggressive and he was given only 6 months to live. But unfortunately he was only granted less than that. We've known him for a long time, almost ten years and I've watched his children grow since they were babies. He was the most wonderful and kindest man you'll ever meet with such an infectious laugh. He also had great hope. At the time we went to visit him at the hospital he still had the strong belief that he could make it through, despite his suffering. He also had a lot of faith in God - and that it was up to Him to decide what he will do for him and his family and he accepted that.
He will be truly missed by many people. In his short time on earth he was able to touch the lives of many people, this was evident by the amount of people who turned up at his commemoration and the novena nights at his house. He leaves behind a wife and two young boys but an even greater legacy. We miss you Tito Bill, we'll continue to live our life the way you did - with joy and happiness.
